A caucus race and a long tale

I am very excited because I've finally resolved something which has been on my mind for a while.  In the summer I am going to an anime convention, Otakon.  I've been racking my brain trying to think of who to cosplay as, because I need to begin working on it very early to ensure I complete it and do so nicely. 

One of my favorite games is America McGee's Alice: Madness Returns, and it's funny that it took me so long to decide who to cosplay as because it seems so obvious now.  I'm going to go as Alice in one of her many costume changes!  I'm going to tackle the third Alice in the picture below, the one with buckles. :)  I decided on this one because of the cute little dragon wings on the back, and it reminds me of a gothic lolita dress which is something ever on my wishlist.

I am also going to make a clockwork bunny bomb with aluminum cans. I am so excited~~! And if I have time, I might try to make a second dress so I can be a different version of Alice on another of the three days of the convention.

This is my first sewing project of such magnitude. I hope it goes well!  Wish me luck, and I will track my progress here and there. I decided to blog about this in hopes that it will motivate me more.
